ARRL Field Day
June 28, 2008
The Solar Stik™ System was employed by multiple Amateur Radio Clubs across the state of Florida for ARRL Field Day 2008. Many of the local radio clubs are directly involved with disaster relief and emergency response during times of crisis.
Use of the Solar Stik™ Systems by State Emergency Response Teams (SERT) is on the increase. Many Emergency Management Offices in the state have already purchased the Solar Stik™ System to supply power during times of crisis. Many of the radio clubs took the opportunity to learn how to use a solar generator to power various types of emergency equipment including communications, computers, and more, should conditions warrant.
Since a solar generator requires no fuel, it does not require any logistics to support its operation in the field. This is a critical feature when traditional power is limited due to fuel resources or damaged infrastructure.

The Solar Stik™ System was employed at major sporting events during the Independence Day Weekend.
The Solar Stik™ System made its debut into the sportsworld with appearances at the LPGA P&G Championship in NW Arkansas and the Camping World Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International Speedway in NY.
The Systems were tasked with providing power for various applications including hospitality tents and electronic sport simulators. Additional systems were made available to power several vendor booths.
The deployment of Solar Stik™ Systems gave the general public a chance to see the latest in portable power technology, a solar generator, in a real world application.
Due to rising fuel prices in recent months, many people are seeking alternatives to traditional power. Several took the opportunity to learn about solar technology and how it can benefit them at home or on the road. Solar Stik™ representatives were on hand to demonstrate the operative characteristics of the system as well as to answer general questions regarding solar energy.
