Inverters

Battery-based (12-volt) DC electrical systems are more common as our society has become increasingly “mobile” in cars, RVs and boats. Also, many new AC appliances have “Energy Star” ratings, allowing them to operate more efficiently and use less power. This increases the potential to power such appliances from a DC power source. To accomplish this type of power conversion, a DC to AC Power Inverter is used.

Power inverters of all shapes and sizes are available in places ranging from your local drug & automotive stores, to big retail chain outlets.

Most appliances require a particular type of power inverter and AC output waveform, but because of a flood of such products in the marketplace, the consumer can be overwhelmed when choosing an inverter.

The ‘Inverter School’ section provides a comprehensive study on how to select the correct inverter for a particular appliance or appliances.  It also explains why certain inverters cost more than others. Click Here to visit the Inverter School.

Solar Stik™ DC Power Hub

DC Power Hubs are designed to function much like a “funnel”. They can process power from multiple sources of DC power generation, and “funnel” the power into a PRO-Verter™ or Power Pak. All connections are Plug & Play, and the Power Hubs can be scaled in accordance with the power requirements.

The Power Hubs serve as a "funnel" by allowing multiple DC sources to funnel power to a battery

Solar Stik™ PRO-Verters™ were developed in the context of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with DoD’s Program Manager for Mobile Electric Power (PM-MEP), a division of PEO-C3T.

PRO-Verter™ technology is proprietary and the result of a collaborative effort between Solar Stik™ Inc. and Magnum Energy Inc.

The Power Ratings

Any PRO-Verter™ is rated at “Maximum Watts”, or the maximum amount of power it can process at one time. The “maximum” value is a sum total of the power processed when both INVERTER and CHARGING functions are simultaneously operating at their full capability.

If the PRO-Verter™ is being used with a portable fuel-driven generator, caution should be exercised that the PRO-Verter’s™ maximum power capability does not exceed the generator’s output.
