P.R.O. Verter™ APM 2300 MS Enviro (24VDC)
24V DC - 120V AC / 60Hz - Item # 240017
The Portable Remote Operation Inverter/Charger (P.R.O. Verter™) with Advanced Power Management (A.P.M.) provides a single point of power management & control to any portable micro-grid that uses a lead-acid battery system as the main power storage facility.
It can be used to combine both DC Power and AC Power sources into one Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the operator.
The PRO-Verter™ APM 2300 has a low-Voltage alarm feature that provides the operator with audible and visible notifications when an external AC Power Source is required for continued operations. External AC power sources include manual-start fuel-driven generators or utility grid sources.
It is a powerful solution that can be used in three distinct situations:
- Solar Stik™ System is used where an existing AC power supply is intermittently available (such as an inconsistent power grid or fuel-driven generator).
- The reduction of fuel-driven generator “run-time” is necessary, either due to the lack of fuel or to lessen the cost burden of operating the generator.
- The Solar Stik™ System is used where power requirements may exceed the System’s daily power generation, requiring a supplemental power source such as a traditional fuel-driven generator.
“Hybrid” or “micro-grid” Operation:
Use of a battery-based Hybrid system comprised of solar, wind, and traditional fuel generators provides the operator with maximum autonomy and flexibility (based on the environmental conditions) and ensures that traditional fuel-driven generators are used only as necessary. In this model, the renewable power generators become the primary power generators, and the fuel-driven generators become the secondary source.
A Hybrid power generator configuration mitigates the risk of dependency on only one power source, while simultaneously increasing operating efficiency dramatically. Additionally, the “open architecture” of a Hybrid configuration allows for the addition of other power generating sources into the circuit as needed.
The PRO-Verter™ is connected between Power Paks and an AC power source, such as a fuel-driven generator, with all system loads (appliances & equipment) connected to the
PRO-Verter™.
The PRO-Verter™ distributes power from the Power Pak batteries as demanded by the appliances, until a user-determined low Voltage set point is reached. At this point, an alarm sounds to notify the operator that a supplemental generator should be activated (manually) to assume the appliance load for continued operation. The PRO-Verter™ will simultaneously recharge the Power Pak batteries, and once the batteries are fully charged, the generator can be turned off.
This process ensures that the generator is run under a “consistent load” condition and that all fuel consumed by the generator is used to produce power for either the appliances or for storage in batteries.
PRO-Verters™ were developed in the context of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with PM-MEP, a division of PEO-C3T.
